Normal gymn sleds are pretty large and often have handles to push with as well as pull. That could be a little too big for use in your home. This sled is very bare bones. It’s compact, only allows pulling, and is fairly light. I am using it on carpet in my home and the smaller size is a welcome thing, especially since I have to turn it around in my small area and walk it back and forth. The weight area is large enough for 45lb plates, and while it is made for the smaller plates, it does have an olympic plate adapter made of plastic which attaches to it.One nitpick is the olympic plate adapter doesn’t go up the entire length of the bar. So the very top is still the skinnier bar. It doesn’t change the functionality but it looks ugly. The sled came very well packaged, with tough foam wrapping over the metal ends to prevent it from destroying the shipping box or getting chipped. The paint job was perfect, no chips or scratches, and it arrived perfect. Assembly was a bit of a pain because they didn’t provide any tools for assembly. You have to attach 3 phillip head screws to 3 lock nuts and washers, and they are not great hardware. The screw heads are huge and I had to find a very large bit to not strip them out. The lock nuts didn’t want to thread on very easily either and so it took a lot of effort to tighten everything down. The sled comes with a harness and straps for pulling. They use decent quality screw carabiners to attach everything. The straps are not very long though and so taller people may find they are lifting the sled as much as pulling it. I personally do not use the vest, I want to pull from my waist in order to develop knee strength so your mileage may vary. It’s also worth noting that the plate area of the sled is more than large enough to accomidate Hex dumbbells instead of plates if you want an easy way to change the weight. I can fit my 2 60lb hex dumbbells pretty handily and they remain stable while pulling if I don’t jerk it around. This makes setting it up, using it, and putting it away, very easy.Speaking of putting it away, because of it’s small size, you can wrap the strap around the weight bar and tuck this into a closet or any small area as it takes up almost no space with the plates removed.
