1. The cover is made by an unidentified manufacturer in China. It has the same design, colors, and dimensions of a model offered on wholesale, at about half the price of this one, in the main Chinese online platform by Zhejiang Kangleyou Leisure Products (a factory with a BSCI certification of promoting workplace conditions in accordance with human rights).2. Its fabric, described as woven polyester with waterproof undercoating, lacks information about fiber thickness. To judge from its appearance, it is an Oxford basket-woven polyester, likely 600D (thickness in derniers), with polyurethane coating. If so, it would have acceptably good durability and breathability.3. As noted by others, positioning the cover on top on the heater and zippering round the dome reflector may require climbing on a chair or stepping stool for most people. This is particularly true if side heat reflectors have been added to a part of the dome. Contingent on one’s height and that of the heater, the zippered cover can be removed without stepping on things. I sprayed the zippers with a silicone lubricant to facilitate sliding them with only one hand, and applied a waterproof spray on the cover to reduce permeability.4. It fits well the 33.5″ diameter of my heater’s dome, and it can be easily zippered in place. At 94.9″ long, however, it is taller than my heater by several inches. To avoid dragging its bottom edge on the floor when moving the heater, thus protecting both the insertion pin and retainer box of the cover’s vertical zipper located there, I slid up the narrow part of the zippered cover as high as possible along the heater’s neck, where I tightened it with a Velcro strap and then gently folded the inverted-cone part on top of that. This is shown in my attached image. The cover makes the heater look rather bulky.5. The decision to buy this cover was hampered by the fact that the Amazon’s overall star rankings (aside from its strange way to calculate them (with the critical rankings at the time of this writing being reduced from their true number of 160 to 127 [4% of 3167]) not only conflate written reviews, which identify the product and verify a purchase, with the newer meaningless one-click global ratings, but also because the listed reviews include those for some other products, even a patio heater(!), so the resulting star rankings can’t be trusted. The mixing also occurs when filtering the reviews for the only format filter available, Color Gray/Style Round. Including reviews for other products –known as “highjacked” reviews– represents seller sloppiness or an attempt to bias the star rankings. In either case, Amazon, the seller of this cover, should clean up both the webpage and its act.. [...]
