A11N SPORTS Pickleball Court Marking Kit – Throw Down Markers with 33ft Long Tape Measure, Chalk and Carrying Bag, Yellow/Neon Orange
$ 6.86
I ordered this marking kit because I will be moving soon and the area I am moving to does not have any local marked pickleball courts. I looked at a couple of types and considered this to be the safest… and it happens to be one of the least expensive too.I had looked at a few other brands that use full- length straps to outline the court and almost ordered one. It didn’t strike me until a week or so later that the straps (nylon webbing) would pose a severe safety issue as someone could trip on the lines while trying to play and focusing on the ball. In addition, we get a fair amount of windy days where I live and the webbing would surely blow around creating further issues.Several things appealed to me about the A11N pickleball court marking kit. To start, it sells for about 1/3 the price of those I was pricing with webbing. Second, the kit is quite compact, easy to use, move, clean, etc. The line markers are highly visible, flat rubber that is heavy enough to stay in place with any winds you can actually play in, but light enough as a kit to easily transport. They are flat enough to not create an issue when stepped on and leave me with no concerns about groping over them. The only downside to the rubber markers is that they do affect the bounce of the ball if it hits them (a small price to pay for the fun).The kit also comes with a nylon 30 foot tape measure that can hook into the ends of the markers to hold the lead end while measuring (you don’t need a second person), 4 white sidewalk chalks for marking lines between the runner line markers, a card providing layout information, and a convenient storage/ transport bag.While I haven’t used the kit to mark out a full court yet (I still have multiple local, well marked courts to use) I have used it as a training aid; I used the rubber markers parallel to, and just over a foot inside, the permanent lines to help create target zones (the area between the 2) for practicing serves and returns.I am very happy with this kit and look forward to putting it to its intended use when I move. A thought I did have – to make marking the lines between the rubber markers cleaner, straighter and easier- is to use a carpenter’s chalk line (of which I have several) instead of the sidewalk chalk. 2 other items of note: 1) While the tape measure is perfectly suitable and functional for this kit, I did have to tighten the screw securing the crank just slightly (don’t over tighten as that will create too much pressure on the tape) as it was a bit loose; 2) The storage bag provided could be just a bit larger… you’ll see.
